Dr. Condoleezza Rice, served under the George W. Bush administration as the first African-American woman as Secretary of State from 2005-2009. Rice earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from The University of Denver, a Master’s from The University of Notre Dame, and a Ph.D. in International Studies from The University of Denver Graduate School. In 2004, she joined the crowd of notable politicians who spoke for a group of Wingate University students in The Jesse Helms Lecture Series regarding American relations with the Muslim community.
