Dorothy Helms was the beloved wife and best friend of Senator Jesse Helms. “The conservative of the family,” is how she was described by relatives of the couple. Their friendship and love affair lasted 65 years until the senator’s death in 2008.
The Dorothy Helms Society is available to anyone who wishes to make a provision for a legacy gift to The Jesse Helms Center Foundation in their estate planning. Gifts include a bequest, charitable gift annuity, charitable trust, real estate, will, or other type of planned gift.
